NBA Premium Play 01/21: Denver Nuggets @ New York Knicks

NBA - 507 Denver Nuggets @ 508 New York Knicks

Projected line: Denver by 9 points

***TRIPLE DIME PLAY***
This game has a special atmosphere as it will be the 1st game between the Knicks and the Nuggets since the mega trade last year between these two teams. Both teams will be super motivated and both are coming from back to back games and on this scenario, the best team wins. Denver will be motivated today and they won't facilitate in anything and they will easily dismantle the pathetic offense of the Knicks, who are coming from another game where their offense was ridiculous to say the least. For 7 games in a row, the Knicks haven't been able to dish at least 20 assists and in almost every single offensive set seems to consist of "handling the ball to Melo on the right elbow and wait for him to brick a jumper.” And nothing, not man nor beast could get him to stop taking forced, off-balance, low-percentage shots.

Coach D'Antoni may get fired, but no team in the NBA can have success with a backcourt composed by Shumpert, Fields, Douglas and Bibby. It's impossible! The ball movement is horrible and that was evident once again last night when the Knicks committed 25 turnovers! The Bucks didn't want to run up with the Knicks and managed to score just 5 fast break points and shot just 7-13 FG in transition plays, but be sure that a team who commits 25 turnovers against a team like Denver will get destroyed, as 20% of the Nuggets offensive plays are on transitions, where they are very good with 1.17 PPP!

The high volume% of bad shot selection from the Knicks has been abyssal. Frequently, Toney Douglas and Iman Shumpert have been shooting more FG's than Amare and not only they shot a lot, as they shot terribly, especially Toney, who in the last 9 games, shot 0-5, 0-3, 1-5, 2-5, 3-13, 5-10, 4-12, 1-6, 1-6 = 17-65 26,1% FG! Against a team like Denver, the mismatch in the backcourt will be huge, as the Knicks will face Lawson, Affalo, Miller and Rudy! Denver has a very simple playing style: they score in transition, they attack the rim and they try to get to the FT line! The Knicks are allowing 65% FG at the rim and they have just Tyson Chandler down low, so don't be surprised to see Chandler in foul trouble early in the game! The Knicks are also just #21 on defending transition plays with 1.17 PPP allowed and finally, when both teams rest a bit their starters, the 2nd unit of the Nuggets will destroy the terrible Knicks bench, as we are talking about the #2 most productive bench of the league with 44.0 ppg going head to head with the 2nd worst bench with just 15.4 ppg! In terms of FG%, the difference between these two teams is even more abyssal, as Denver is #1 in the league with 49,9% FG, while the Knicks are #29 with 38.1% FG!

This is an emotional game for both teams where the better team will easily win. Denver is by far the better team on this contest and therefore, I expect them to have a double digits win tonight and therefore, I'll take them in a Triple Dime Play!

Pick: 5 units (Triple Dime Play) on 507 Denver Nuggets (-2) @ -110 / 1.91 on 5 Dimes
