NBA Premium Play 04/13: Los Angeles Clippers @ Memphis Grizzlies

NBA - 505 Los Angeles Clippers @ 506 Memphis Grizzlies

Projected Line: pk line

Memphis may be an elite defensive team, but their offensive execution is simply terrible. It looks like they only want to kill time on offense down the stretch to go defend afterwards. They struggled to beat the Rockets down the stretch, the lost at LA against the Lakers down the stretch, while they needed a last second shot from Mike Conley to beat a shorthanded version of the Spurs. It's very hard to consistently beat top teams with no offensive flow down the stretch, no matter how good a team is on defense. It's not like the Clippers are miles better than them, but the LA team at least has Chris Paul who is very tough down the stretch.

This is the second game of a back to back for both teams, who also had to travel to play tonight. Both teams struggled to win yesterday, but the Grizzlies's game in Houston had a much higher intensity than the Clippers's game at New Orleans. I believe the key for this game will come from the bench and on this specific area, the Clippers have a big edge over Memphis. The Grizzlies's bench is basically resumed to Jerryd Bayless and nobody else, as their coach doesn't trust in Quincy Pondexter, Darrell Arthur and Ed Davis to play major minutes. On the other side, the Clippers's bench was responsible for their comeback win against the Hornets last night.

On the last game between these two teams, Memphis won at LA with a surprisingly clutch 4th quarter, but the Clippers's bench wasn't at their best, as Eric Bledsoe didn't play and Jamal Crawford had a poor 1-10 FG night. The LA bench scored just 11 points in 5-20 FG during that game, something very uncommon for them. I believe the Clippers's bench will play much better tonight and give the LA team a good chance of winning tonight. Therefore, I'll be taking the Clippers in here.
