NBA Premium Play 04/12: Brooklyn Nets @ Indiana Pacers

NBA - 701 Brooklyn Nets @ 702 Indiana Pacers

Projected Line: 184 points | Indiana by 9 points

I believe we will have two teams with completely different intensity levels in here. Indiana has a real chance of getting to the #2 seed, as they will be facing the Knicks next Sunday, while Brooklyn is 3 games behind Indiana and 3 games in front of Chicago with 4 games to go on the regular season for them. The Nets are coming from a good win last Wednesday in Boston, where they had a max effort, after the Celtics talked some trash about them prior to the game. Deron Williams played 40 minutes and even the banged up Joe Johnson played 36 minutes. Besides the lack of intensity Brooklyn will show today, they are coming from facing Charlotte, Philadelphia and Boston, three undersized teams, while they will now be facing the super sized Pacers tonight. In their last three games, Brooklyn saw Reggie Evans dominating the boards and Brook Lopez shooting 7-14 FG, 13-22 FG and 8-14 FG. This also allowed Deron Williams to have more space to play well and he is indeed in good form. However, the last time the Nets played against a physical team, they lost at home against a super shorthanded Bulls.

Indiana has a big game against the Knicks next Sunday, but that will only be a "big game" if they beat Brooklyn tonight and they know that:

“That’s in the back of our minds,” Pacers swingman Paul George said of postseason seeding. “Coach (Frank Vogel) brought it up. We know how we react playing in big games and it hasn’t been as well as we want.” Vogel didn’t hide the fact that he plans to continue to remind his players of the importance of Friday’s game.

Brooklyn is 2-0 against Indiana this season. In the fourth quarter of the first meeting in January, the Pacers shot 3-22 FG and lost their emotional control by being more interested in complaining with the officials than in playing. In the second meeting, Paul George and David West shot a combined of 3-21 FG in an overtime loss. Brook Lopez scored 25 points, while Reggie Evans grabbed 22 rebounds. However, it's important to notice that even though Reggie grabbed 22 boards, the Pacers still outrebounded the Nets by grabbing 53% of the total rebounds. Both contests will super slow paced games and I expect the same to happen tonight, with the Pacers bring their physicality to outmuscle the Nets tonight. Therefore, I expect Indiana to pick up a comfortable win tonight on a low-scoring affair. So, I'll be taking both the Pacers and the Under in here.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 702 Indiana Pacers (-5,5) @ -110 / 1.91 on 5Dimes
