Soccer German Bundesliga Play - VfB Stuttgart @ Hertha Berlin

German Bundesliga - VfB Stuttgart @ Hertha Berlin (Friday 7:30PM CET / 2:30PM EST)

I decided to take a look at this game and I had to notice how Hertha is such a declared favorite for this contest. I would have to agree if this game was played at the end of August, but that isn't the case and looking at the current circumstances, I believe we have value with the visitors.

Stuttgart had an awful start of the season despite having some good expectations. They lost their first three domestic games and they couldn't even eliminate the Croatian team of Rijeka on the Europa League qualifying round, as they lost in Croatia by 1-2 and only got a 2-2 tie at home. Obviously things couldn't continue like this and their manager Bruno Labbadia was sacked. Their organization immediately promoted Thomas Schneider as their new manager and he worked his magic quickly, as Stuttgart crushed Hoffenheim on their last game by 6-2! Alexandru Maxim and Vedad Ibisevic were the key figures in that match by scoring 5 of the team's 6 goals! Their offense looked good and then, we are obviously dealing with a pretty confident team right now, something that they were previously lacking. For today's contest, Ibrahima Traoré returns from suspension to play on the left wing, while Karim Haggui will strengthen their defense.

Hertha Berlin has been one of the biggest surprises of the Bundesliga so far with seven points in four games! However, one of their best players in Alexander Baumjohann is out for today and he's the team's playmaker, so Hertha might struggle in linking up their offensive game today, something that makes them to be a bit overrated against a confident Stuttgart team. Therefore, I'll be taking Stuttgart on the Asian handicap today.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on VfB Stuttgart (+0.5) @ -147 / 1.68 on Pinnacle OR @ -146 / 1.68 on 5Dimes
