NBA - 707 Washington Wizards @ 708 Chicago Bulls
Projected line: 180 points | Chicago by 10 points
NOTE: Derrick Rose is OUT for tonight, so my projection lines for this game are now 177 points & Chicago by 9 points!!!
This
is clearly a bad spot for Chicago, who will play tonight a back to back
to back game and also the 5th game in 6 days. More than that, the way
they faced yesterday's game at Minnesota might be dangerous for them and
may indicate a letdown for tonight. Chicago tired to outrun Minnesota
yesterday by taking advantage of the fact that Minnesota was on a back
to back to back game! The pace of that game was quite high (94) and so,
the game was played up and down, with Chicago being simply a perimeter
team. The Bulls were extremely backcourt heavy, with
Boozer/Noah/Asik/Gibson only accounting for 25 of the team's 111 points!
Chicago shot just 14-22 FG at the rim, but they shot 10-22 FG from
16-23 feet and 11-20 3pts! The problem was that since Minensota was able
to comeback into the game, the Bulls used their starters for a long
time. Deng played 43 minutes, Rose 42 minutes and Brewer 36 minutes!
Also apparently, Rose was limping around the locker room after the game
having
aggravated his turf toe problem! Chicago's playing style is very
athletic and if they are on a real bad spot, their defense may become a
problem. Remember their game at Atlanta?
On the other side,
Washington is coming from their first win of the season against Toronto.
It was a super easy spot for them, but the most important was the
chance in the starting lineup! Washington started Wall, Young,
Singleton, Booker and McGee (all hustle guys), while Blatche, Lewis,
Crawford, Mack and Vesely came from the bench to give some scoring punch
to the 2nd unit!
The Wizards had a season-high 20 assists, which was a credit to a
better commitment to ball-movement and trust, but also an ability to
make shots: “We’ve had so many times when we’ve gone to the bench with
so many of our young guys and we seem to have more droughts. It’s even
more difficult when you’re not scoring,” Saunders said. “Most of the
good teams in this league, you become better when you go to your bench.
[Dallas Mavericks guard] Jason Terry is a starter. Most of the good
teams have someone like that that they put into the game. He’s better
than the guys they have on the floor usually.” the Wizards reserves
accounted for 43 of the 93 points, surpassing the previous season-best
total of 39 bench points in Milwaukee.
This is a bad spot for Chicago and with the new energetic lineup of
the Wizards, I expect them to make this game at least somewhat close.
Therefore, I'll take Washington in here.
