Projected line: 191 points
Toronto is coming from a road game at LA against the Clippers, where
without Bargnani once again, they had problems in scoring near the
basket, with just 32 points in the paint, 0-2 FG on post up plays and
12-21 FG at the rim! Their backcourt was also terrible and therefore,
they had a huge offensive collapse: DeRozan 4-19 FG, Calderon 1-8 FG!
Toronto also just shot 1-8 FG on P&R Ball Handler plays! Just their
bench was capable of doing something productive on this offensive
no-show from the Raptors! For tonight, Bargnani is finally back and that
will immediately improve Toronto's offense, not only because the
Italian player is their best offensive player, but also his presence on
court opens up the court for the rest of the players! Phoenix's defense
isn't athletics on the wings and therefore, I expect a better game from
Toronto offensively tonight!
On the other side, Phoenix is coming from a loss last night at Dallas and the main reason for their loss was in fact Steve Nash, who had a terrible shooting night with 2-9 FG and 0-3 3pts! The Suns shot just 1-10 FG P&R Ball Handler, which is something remarkable for a team with Nash as their PG! Today, I expect a bounce back from the Suns offense, as they have some edge on the matchup. Toronto's defense is built to not allow points in the paint (2# on rim defense with just 55.1% FG allowed), but that always gives space to their opponents to shoot from the outside. Phoenix is #3 on shooting from 16-23 feet with 41.2% FG and Toronto knowing from the Suns back to back spot will surely try to push up the pace, as their coach Casey knows very well about the athletic advantage of the Raptors in tonight's contest.
I expect this game to be played on a medium/fast pace, with both teams on bounce back modes on offense, something they should accomplish, as they will have some edges against their opponent's defense. So, I came up with a totals projection of 191 points, high enough for me to take the over in here.
