NBA - 713 New Jersey Nets @ 714 Los Angeles Clippers
Projected line: LA Clippers by 5 points
New Jersey has been really well offensively over their past few
games, especially on their outside game. Since their head coach Avery
Johnson inserted the rookie Brooks in the starting lineup, the team has
been playing with a 3-guard rotation and Deron Williams has been amazing
with his Pick & Rolls in finding the best spots for the team to
shoot. This is why even though the Nets are an overall average offensive
team, they are 3rd in the league in P&R Ball Handler with 0.87 PPP
and 8.90% of volume and 9th in Spot Ups with 0.97 PPP and 25.20% of
volume. With Okur in the lineup as well, the Nets are now a dangerous
team.
On the other side, CP3 and Mo Williams will be out and the Clippers have
been the best team in the league in P&R Ball Handler due to CP3
with 0.93 PPP and 13.10% volume. Without him, the Clippers will struggle
on offense. Griffin has potentially a good matchup with Humphries, but
for some reason Humphries always plays well against the Clippers. In
four career games as a Net vs. the Clippers, Humphries has averaged 19.5
points and almost 12 rebounds while making 32 of 43 shots. He's also
given Blake Griffin fits. Griffin had one of the worst games of his
rookie year, with just 11 points and 3 rebounds, against Humphries.
Therefore, I expect the Nets to make this game much more competitive
than most people expect. This is also a game where we can expect some
contention for the Clippers, as this is their first game of a back to
back to back spot. Therefore, after looking at all these facts, I'll
take New Jersey in here.
Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 713 New Jersey Nets (+8) @ -110 / 1.91 on Bookmaker
