NBA - 705 San Antonio Spurs @ 706 Orlando Magic
Projected line: 190 points | Orlando by 2 points
***DOUBLE DIME PLAY***
San
Antonio is coming from a game where they started very well, but then
they were squashed like bugs by Miami in the 2nd half. For today, they
are into a tough spot, as they will be playing their 3rd game in 4 days
and they are also on a back to back spot. Things haven't been easy for
the Spurs on tough spots this season, as they have already had four back
to back games and they struggled on offense so much that their average
off rates on those four games was 102.9 while their season average is
109.6! That's a 7 point differential! They struggles specifically at the
rim by shooting just 58% FG on those games. Now against a team like the
Magic, San Antonio will heavily struggle to score points in the paint
or in fast breaks, as Orlando is a top defensive team in those areas.
They will have to rely on their outside shooting once again and on a
tough spot like this one and with tired legs, I don't expect their
offensive efficiency to be very high tonight.
On the other side, Orlando really struggled to beat at home the
Bobcats last night, as it was clear during the game that they were still
tired from their effort made in the previous day on their comeback road
win at the Knicks. The Magic slowly worked their way back into
yesterday's game as the second half unfolded, but the Bobcats made it a
battle. Both teams showed signs of fatigue, in the midst of their second
game in as many nights, with Charlotte playing its fifth game in six
nights. Both teams shot 40 percent from the floor and committed six
turnovers in the third period. Howard managed to keep his hands to
himself, for the most part, committing just one foul; as a result, he
played the entire 12 minutes, and continued to make the Bobcats look
silly by posting nine points and five boards. Now on a back to back to
back spot, I expect Orlando to struggle, especially on offense. With
tired legs, even their red hot outside shooting struggled with just 7-22
3pts against a poor Bobcats defense. They also committed an unusual
high number of turnovers (18) and so, I expect them to struggle once
again today.
With both teams being on a really tough spot, I expect this game to
have a poor display of offensive efficiency from both teams, as their
outside shooting is a very important part of their playing styles. I
expect the pace to be slow as well and therefore, I came up with a
projection line of 190 points, which makes me take the under in here on a
Double Dime Play! I'll also be taking San Antonio on this contest, as
even though their spot is tough, Orlando's spot is also quite tough and
with Hedo out of this game due to injury, they lose some of their
outside shooting and their playmaker for the down the stretch. San
Antonio seems a bit less tired than Orlando right now and so, I expect
them to make this game quite close.
Pick: 4 units (Double Dime Play) on 705/706 Under 196 @ -110 / 1.91 on 5Dimes
Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 705 San Antonio Spurs (+5) @ -110 / 1.91 on 5Dimes
