NBA - 513 San Antonio Spurs @ 514 Houston Rockets
Projected line: PK line
***SPLIT THE WAGER***
San Antonio is coming from a very surprising home loss last
night against Sacramento, where they simply failed on their outside side
with 4-16 FG from 16-23 feet and 5-25 3pts! We are talking about 9-41
FG! The Spurs had 9-29 FG on Spot Up plays when they are #4 in the
league on this kind of plays with 1.03 PPP! Their offense looked out of
sync for large parts in this game. I couldn’t tell if it was guys
cutting when they shouldn’t be cutting or if the timing was off, but
players were in the way a lot. Their frontcourt will be rested for
tonight, as Duncan and Blair each played about nine minutes in the
second half in yesterday's game against the Kings. If the Spurs had won,
it would’ve been considered great man management by Pop heading into
tonight’s game in Houston.
San Antonio is always a tough matchup for Houston, as the Rockets
don't have a good perimeter defense nor team help defense. They are an
average Spot Up defense (#17 with 0.90 PPP), they are #30 on Off Screens
defense with 1.06 PPP allowed, #21 on Cuts with 0.88 PPP allowed and in
all these three areas, the Spurs offense are a top 3 team in the
league! The Rockets have been winning their games, but with convincing
anybody and against a fired up team of San Antonio, they will struggle
tonight.
Houston has Jordan Hill coming from a tough flu bug and
Dalembert is questionable for tonight with an ankle injury. The Rockets
have no depth on the frontcourt and so, they will struggle on this area
tonight as well. On a shooting contest, I wouldn't be surprised to see
the Spurs bouncing back from their poor exterior shooting last night and
winning this game outright, therefore I'll be taking San Antonio
tonight. Split the wager!
