NBA - 703 Oklahoma City Thunder @ 704 Washington Wizards
Projected line: 200 points
Washington
is a team that likes to play with speed and attack the rim. This was
exactly what they did on their last game against Houston and I have no
doubts they will do it again today. Against the Rockets, Washington
scored 37 fast break points and 56 points in the paint, while shooting
10-16 FG on transition plays! The Wizards have been playing on a very
fast pace and this was clearly visible on their last 3 games, which were
played on paces of 91.45, 93.29 and 94.16, with a total of 60, 41 and
45 fast break points being scored on those games! The Wizards have
struggles on their ball movement, so they need edges on transition
plays, offensive rebounds and easy shots in the paint to stay
competitive. Curiously, Oklahoma City's defense is really mediocre on
these three areas! They are 26th on defending transition plays by
allowing 1.05 PPP, 21st on defending on offensive rebounds by allowing
1.05 PPP and 27th on defending the paint with 42.7 ppg allowed!
On the other side, the Thunder won't have any offensive problems
tonight. Washington with their turnovers and silly shot locations allow
loads of fast break points. They team help defense is extremely poor and
their Spot Up defense is also horrible, being ranked 29th in the league
with 1.04 PPP allowed. After some tough games, Oklahoma City will have a
more relaxed approach to this contest and they will surely have no
problems in running with the Wizards tonight. I expect both defenses to
struggle, with the Thunder confident in that they can simply outscore
the Wizards via their offense tonight. Therefore, I came up with a
projection of 200 points, high enough for me to take the over in here.
