NBA Premium Plays 01/01: Memphis Grizzlies @ Chicago Bulls

NBA - 811 Memphis Grizzlies @ 812 Chicago Bulls

Projected line: 180 points

***TOP PLAY***

*`TRIPLE DIME PLAY*

First of all, this is a really tough spot for Chicago, who had four games in five days on the West Coast and they will now play at home, with just one day of rest! Their offense on their last two games was really good, but they faced two poor help defensive teams. Sacramento couldn't stop their transition plays, while LAC was horrible on the backcourt defense (CP3 and Mo Williams in the starting backcourt?!), letting that Rose and Hamilton combine for 45 points, on 8-14 FG and 8-18 FG shooting performances, respectively. Chicago also had edges on FT's and ORR and therefore, they clearly dominated the game. However, this time they will face a Grizzlies team who has been quite well on their perimeter defense, which is one of their strongest parts by allowing just 23% eFG on 16-23 feet shots and 54% eFG on 3pts shots! Memphis has been quite good on defensive rebounding as well, with 76.71% and this may make the Bulls struggle on their offensive rebounding, which is a vital part of the team's offense to be efficient!

On the other side, Memphis offense has been having a absurd volume of shots at the rim with 37.7%! They also try a lot from the 16-23 feet area (27% - with 47% of eFG). Besides these two specific areas, the Grizzlies shoot very little from other areas of the with and with poor eFG%. Chicago's perimeter defense is very good as always, but a bit weak at the rim by allowing 67.25% eFG! But eventually they will step it up, as they have the players to do much better than that. Last year, the two matches between these two teams were played a super slow pace (85 & 87) and with the rim offense of Memphis shooting just 69% and 54% eFG! Therefore, considering Chicago's bad spot and the natural troubles of the Grizzlies offense against a top defensive team like the Bulls, I came up with a projection of 181 points. So, I'll take the under in here on a Triple Dime Play!
