This is a really favourable spot to Memphis mentally. They are coming from a huge humiliation at Chicago and so, this is a bounce back spot for them. Their best player ZBO is out for this match, so there is a chance for an "overlook" of Sacramento, considering they are a young and inexperienced team! Then, we have Sacramento coming from a good home win against the Hornets and they are coming from a nice stretch of 4 home games in their first 5 games of the season! Huge mental edge for Memphis! Let's also not forget the whole soap opera about Cousins, which is a clear distraction for the Kings!
Then, matchup wise, we have a good edge for Memphis, considering the playing style of Sacramento. Memphis is a team who likes to score in transition, they are aggressive and they force turnovers. Sacramento is quite terrible on this area and against Chicago, they allowed 33 fast break points! The Kings are also one of the worst teams in defending the rim with 71% FG allowed! That's the problem of having a starting frontcourt composed by Chuck Hayes and JJ Hickson!
Even though ZBO will be out for this game, the style of Memphis of attacking will still result against the poor defense of the Kings. Memphis' head coach has already stated that the team will use more the perimeter and so, we can expect small lineups and a fast pace for this contest. I expect a very strong start from Memphis tonight, considering their very strong bounce back spot and therefore, I'll also take Memphis in 1st Quarter in here.
