Soccer World Cup Play 06/14: Ivory Coast vs. Japan

Soccer World Cup Play: Ivory Coast vs. Japan

***Double DIME PLAY***

***Split the wager***

This is going to be a fun game to watch as both teams are offensive minded, even though they play a very different style between them.

The Japanese team loves to play in a high tempo, fast forward build up style. They have some underrated creative midfielders players like Honda and Shinji Kagawa and usually, they create a good number of chances to score regardless the level of their opponent. Their weakest link used to be @ striker position, but now they have Shinji Okazaki who is coming from a nice individual campaign in the Bundesliga in which he scored 15 goals, so their traditional problems will be less problematic. Just look for their friendly games as of late: they scored 3 goals vs. Belgium; 4 against New Zealand; 1 against Cyprus; 3 against Costa Rica and finally, 4 against Zambia.

Ivory Coast on the other end has plenty of firepower on the front w/ Didier Drogba, Gervinho, Kalou and super midfielder Yaya Touré, but they have a suspect defense prone to commit silly errors – something pretty common in African teams. It is worth to mention that Ivory Coast has allowed at least one goal in their last 7 games!

This game will be played in some crazy fast tempo. I’ve already mentioned that this is the Japanese mindset, while Ivory Coast is probably the most physical team in tournament, so fatigue won’t be an issue for them.

My fair line for this contest is a pure 3-goals line w/ both teams scoring at least one goal and therefore, I’m taking both scenarios in Plays: Over 2.25 Goals & Both teams to score.

Pick: 2 units (Double Dime Play) on Over 2.5 Goals @ +104 / 2.04 on Pinnacle Sports (OR -117 / 1.85 on 5 Dimes)
Pick: 2 units (Double Dime Play) on Both Teams to Score @ -126 / 1.79 on Pinnacle Sports (OR -130 / 1.77 on 5 Dimes)
