Soccer World Cup Play: Ivory Coast vs. Colombia
With the late line movement going towards Colombia, I think that they are clearly overrated for this contest and we are getting some value w/ African team. My initial projection for this contest was actually a DRAW… both teams have already 3 points in the bag and so, I don’t expect them to take many risks, especially if the game is tied w/ +70th min of the game.
Colombia impressed big time in the first game vs. Greece by winning 3-0. However, note that the Colombian early goal (@ 5th minute) changed all the complexion of the game: the Greeks defensive mindset had to be changed after suffering one goal and obviously, Colombia had more space to operate when having the ball and easily dismantled the Greeks.
On the other side, Ivory Coast made a nice rally and defeated 2-1 Japan after being down 0-1 in the first half. Their physical presence and great tempo @ 2nd half made the difference as we are really in front of the most physical team in the tournament.
We have two very different styles going against each other and I don’t think that Colombia is worth to be favored in almost 50%! I have a strong lean w/ Draw but by taking Ivory Coast (+0.5), we will cash anyway if the game ends up tied.
