Yesterday the Knicks had problems in the beginning of the game at Washington, but then Melo was amazing and carried the team to an important win. The Knicks used Amare for 41 minutes, Melo 36 minutes, Chandler 36 minutes and Shumpert 37 minutes! So, with so much usage of their key players, this is a bad spot for them and therefore, their defense should be even worse than usual, if that's possible! The truth is that against a bad offensive with a ball movement like Washington, the Knicks still allowed 20-28 FG at the rim and 8-11 FG from 3-9 feet!
Detroit is coming from a game where they scored just 73 points at Philadelphia, but they did quite well at the rim with 20-28 FG! So, the key for Detroit tonight will be to attack the basket, which should happen without much resistance from the horrible rim defense of the Knicks. On the other side, the backcourt defense of Detroit continues a disaster! The Pistons also defend poorly the paint and Amare vs Jerebko is a clear mismatch.With both teams struggling on defense and with mismatches helping their offenses, I came up with a projection of 194 points and therefore, I'll take the over in here.
