NBA Premium Play 01/03: Charlotte Bobcats @ Cleveland Cavaliers

NBA - 501 Charlotte Bobcats @ 502 Cleveland Cavaliers

Projected line: 185 points

Cleveland is coming from an almost historical game for them, where they shot 16-26 3pts! They committed 22 turnovers, scored just 36 points the paint with 13-21 FG (62%) at the rim and 3-13 FG from 3-9 feet, but their key was on the 3pts shots. Besides that, they had just 11 FT attempts vs 28 FT from New Jersey and so, basically they were a "finesse" team that won via outside shooting, which is a bad mindset for this game. I clearly don't believe that the Cavaliers will be capable of repeating such good performance!

On the other side, Charlotte is coming from a blowout loss at Miami, where they were fulminated by the transition plays of the Heat. I don't give a lot of importance to this game, as it was an "unique" game, with very special characteristics! Cleveland's defense has been quite decent since their bad first game of the season against Toronto by allowing 89, 84 (RT @IND) and 82 points! Of course Detroit, Indiana and New Jersey aren't top offensive teams, but neither is Charlotte! The Bobcats play with a heavy volume on long 2pts (35.1%) and 3pts shots (20,4%) and Cleveland has been defending really well on those areas by allowing just 39% and 36%, respectively.

Both teams present a similar level and considering the offensive letdownt that Cleveland should suffer tonight and the good defense of the Cavs on the areas where Charlotte likes to shoot, I came up with a projection of 185 points for this contest. Therefore, looking at the current lines, I'll be taking the under in here.
