Size will matters in this contest! Not only MIN superior size on the frontcourt w/ Love + Pekovic + Dieng will be a tough matchup for the undersized BKN frontcourt but also, MIN is one of the best teams in the league in taking care of the ball (ranked #2 in the league w/ 13.5% TO/rate) and this is bad news for a Nets’ defensive team that needs to create TO’s in order to be competitive. Obviously, the Nets will have some nice edge on the perimeter, but we should be dealing w/ an almost 50/50 line as both teams have substantial edges….BKN via perimeter and MIN via inside game.

NBA - 709 Chicago Bulls @ 710 Boston Celtics

I expect this contest to be a dogfight because the inability of the Bulls in scoring points will put them in a tough position in here. After defeating the Heat at home, BOS is 0-3 L3 games… The common factor of those losses was the fact that opp. perimeter offenses torched them from outside (25-60 3pts in those 3 games – 41.1%)! The good news is that the Bulls are struggling to hit those shots! Also, BOS has some nice depth on the frontcourt w/ Humphries + Bass + Sullinger + Olynyk so they can bang some bodies vs. CHI’s physical frontcourt.

NBA - 713 New York Knicks @ 714 Golden State Warriors

I faded the Knicks in their last game @PHX basically saying that they couldn’t stop Dragic + Bledsoe:

“NYK perimeter defense w/ Felton + JR Smith is simply atrocious! NYK allowed CLE’s guards Waiters + Jack to completely torch them as CLE shot +60% FG, then they were crushed by the Lakers w/ their outside shooting (18-28 3pts). They were able to bounce back last game @SAC but they had the HUGE break of SAC’s PG Isaiah Thomas being OUT for that game as SAC’s starting backcourt was McCallum + McLemore = 2 inexperienced and “raw” rookies. Good luck for tonight vs. Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic…”

For this contest, they will face S. Curry and K. Thompson…good luck with that!

On the other side, GSW perimeter defense has been a bit inconsistent as of late. Curry and Thompson will be scoring so easily that I don’t think that they will put much effort on the defensive end as well, so NYK’s offense will be decent.

The Lakers simply don’t have the proper talent to play at such frenetic pace against teams that play exactly in that style. MIN completely crushed them in the last game w/ 143-107 final score by scoring 13 fast break points + 66 points in the paint! Without P. Gasol and w/ Kaman completely out of “shape”, LAL won’t take advantage of PHX’s undersized frontcourt. Since E. Bledsoe returned to action, PHX perimeter defense has been phenomenal and w/ LAL’s guards being slowed them vs. PHX defense, I really expect PHX to crush LAL in here. NOTE that PHX is 7-1 ATS as road favorites this season!

I really think we should be dealing w/ a totals line of 200 points in this contest!

As expected, TOR had a nice offensive game vs. BOS in last game! They were “rested” and their ball movement has been good lately especially when they have favorable matchups on the backcourt w/ Lowry and DeRozan.

However, TOR’s defense has not been the same lately. Because Lowry + DeRozan are playing so many minutes, TOR’s PNR defense has been struggling for quite some time. Note that BOS in the last game had 9-14 FG PNR ball handler players w/ J. Bayless torching them w/ 8-13 FG for 20 points in just 28 minutes! This is good news for a “healthy” ORL team that has Nelson & Afflalo on the backcourt.

ORL is a decent team when Nelson + Afflalo + Vucevic are healthy especially via offense. They have in Vucevic a solid post up player (he dominated CHA’s w/ 11-22 FG for 24 pts) while their perimeter can hit some outside shots w/ Nelson on the floor.
