NYK perimeter defense w/ Felton + JR Smith is simply atrocious! NYK allowed CLE’s guards Waiters + Jack to completely torch them as CLE shot +60% FG, then they were crushed by the Lakers w/ their outside shooting (18-28 3pts). They were able to bounce back last game @SAC but they had the HUGE break of SAC’s PG Isaiah Thomas being OUT for that game as SAC’s starting backcourt was McCallum + McLemore = 2 inexperienced and “raw” rookies. Good luck for tonight vs. Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic…

I had a Top Play w/ Under in the last H2H game but for tonight, the circumstances have changed. TOR is now “rested” and so, I expect more consistency from them. Note that they still have scored 99 points while shooting 11-23 from 3pts but there were some moments in that game that they looked “flat” + their bench was awful! On the other end, I expect better overall games from Rondo + Bradley while BOS’s coach will quickly remove Humphries to give more minutes to Sullinger as he crushed TOR in that game w/ 8-17 FG, 4-6 3pts, 6-8 FT for 26 pts!

IND needed that win vs. MIA = morale & confidence boost! Hibbert was great in the first half, Paul George shot 8-19 FG and IND had 7-15 FG in post up plays! They showed something in that game! On the other side, WAS is now in a slump and I’ve been telling several times inc. last game vs. PHX: “without Nene Hilario, the Wizards are in trouble”! IND’s edge vs. WAS “soft” frontcourt will make the difference in here.

We have a banged up MIA team for this contest after their brutal game @IND + several players OUT like Chalmers, Wade and Allen. MIA will try to put slow tempo on the court to control the flow of the game. DET’s awful perimeter defense will be decent b/c MIA is really struggling to hit outside shots -> 30-97 3pts in L5 games! On the other end, Mia’s perimeter defense has been subpar vs. teams w/ good shooters but this isn’t the case for DET.

This is a typical game between two lowly teams that actually are awful defensive teams but had some good offensive talent on the court. NO w/ A. Davis & T. Evans will torch UTA’s bad defense while UTA’s frontcourt unit of Kanter + Favors will have a decent edge vs. shorthanded NO’s interior defense.

This is a bad spot for LAL especially b/c they will play @MIN against a team that actually knows how to “run and gun” and will crush them in that style. LAL is committing too many TO’s as of late w/ avg of 18.0 in L4 games and this is good news for MIN’s aggressive defense led by Ricky Rubio. MIN is plays really well vs. lowly teams primed for a physical letdown, the same can’t be said vs. elite teams down the stretch but this isn’t the case for tonight.

Super bad spot for the Blazers in here! This is going to be their 4th game in just 5 nights! They finally won one game @ATL last night! However note that it is one thing to face an undersized and “soft” ATL’s frontcourt and so, POR’s awful interior defense was “decent”and it’s really another thing to face CHI’s physical frontcourt unit that will eat alive POR’s bad inside game.

OKC perimeter defense is having some real problems since the All Star Break – in the last game vs. DAL, once again, they were torched by DAL’s great ball movement and good outside shooters. Well, for tonight they will face a SAC team that is in a streak of 6 consecutive games without netting 20-assists mark (avg = 17.0) and is shooting 28.3% from 3pts in L10 games – worst mark in the league! I. Thomas is OUT for tonight so, SAC offense will be too much stagnant! OKC’s good size @ frontcourt will slow down D. Cousins and so, I expect a typical OKC blowout after losing one game.

We’ve lost w/ OVER in the last H2H between these two teams. SAS as expected was able to score w/ nice rate as they shot 49% FG + 40 3pts% but their problem was = committing 21TO’s! the difference for today is that I expect DEN to be better offensively as they play at home. Note that DEN offense was great in that game @ second half because they played more small ball: Mozgov 1st half -> 18:24min vs. Mozgov 2nd half -> 12 min! Mozgov is OUT for tonight, so I expect DEN to push the pace even more! Note also that DEN scored 19 fast break pts in the second half vs. just 5 in the first half!
