OKC is still adjusting to Westbrook’s presence but note that R. Jackson is really struggling now coming off the bench, so OKC’s Point Guards are both playing bad… for some reason K. Irving had a monster game against them.
Also, OKC was outrebounded in L2 games! K. Perkins is almost worthless for them expect….when OKC faces a team like MEM! MEM plays ALWAYS BIG w/ 2 traditional post players and the presence of Perkins really makes sense for them in that context. For tonight, rookie Adams will have to face M. Gasol in both ends of the floor…good luck with that!
MEM is playing @ high level right now. Conley is close to 100% and MEM’s 2nd unit has been spectacular! Tony Allen is back and suddenly, MEM has plenty of “bodies” to defend K. Durant: Prince, J. Johnson & T. Allen!
I understand that OKC wants to bounce back, but right now they shouldn’t be favored by almost 7-points over this healthy MEM team.

GSW shot only 5-21 3pts as CHI did an incredible job in slowing down S. Curry as Curry finished the game w/ 2-10 FG, 1-5 3pts for 5 pts, 5 assists and 5 TO’s!
Obviously, I expect GSW to bounce back tonight and they really couldn’t wish a better opponent than the Knicks…
NYK defense has been incredibly bad! They are ranked (dead last) #30 in Pick n Roll ball handler defense and they are allowing 42.1% from 3pts in the last 10 games – WORST MARK IN THE LEAGUE!
On the other end, in order to stop NYK’s offense, we need to know if GSW’ perimeter defense has been decent = check! GSW is allowing 31.9% 3pts in L10 games - #3 best mark in the league! They will put Iguodala on Melo who will make Melo working hard tonight….while the rest of the NYK crew is really struggling right now. I have no words to qualify Felton’s & Prigioni’s performance last night @MIA (both combined to hit 1-10 FG)…
I expect GSW to easily dismantle the Knicks tonight as my fair line is GSW-9/-10 points.

K. Irving dominated the game down the stretch but this was not a surprise… J. Jack is playing major minutes due to Waiters’ injury, but he finally had a decent game @OKC w/ 6-14 FG, 3-7 3pts, 6-6 FT for 21 points. He and Irving are good PNR’ offensive players and w/ Jack being aggressive, CLE offense looked better right away. Also, S. Hawes started for the Cavs and he was HUGE in that game! We all know that he sucks @ defense + no post up game, but he has a solid mid range game, and his “Pick n Pop’s” plays @OKC worked out pretty well for CLE as Hawes finished the game w/ a solid 8-18 FG & 3-6 3pts line.
His presence on the court really helps CLE’s floor spacing b/c all their frontcourt players are limited – mid-range shooting wise. For tonight, CLE will face one the worst Pick n Roll defensive teams in the league in the Jazz, and so I really think that CLE will be sharp offensively once again! UTA is ranked #21, #23 and #23 in PNR ball handler + PNR Roll Man + Transition plays and I expect CLE offense to excel tonight in these areas.
On the other side, UTA is 2-0 in L2 games by posting stellar Off. Rtg. numbers of 125.6 & 124.0 so they are confident going for tonight’s game. UTA is coming from a nice win vs. PHX but PHX’s best player Goran Dragic didn’t play that game and obviously, w/ PHX playing @b2b nights and without their best player = too easy for UTA!
UTA’s weakest defensive link wasn’t explored in those 2 games as R. Rondo & I. Smith didn’t have the ability to torch UTA’s bad perimeter defense. Tonight the Jazz will face K. Irving…good luck with that!
