NBA Premium Play 03/17: Philadelphia 76ers @ Chicago Bulls

NBA - 507 Philadelphia 76ers @ 508 Chicago Bulls

Projected lines: 177 points | Chicago by 1 point

***DOUBLE DIME PLAY***

Philadelphia is coming from a home loss last night against Miami, where they had a 1st half to forget, with their perimeter defense didn't exist and their offense lacked aggression. The referees allowed the players to be aggressive by not whistling any fouls and Miami was much more physical than the Sixers and completely outplayed them. With that 1st half, we are talking bout three halves in a row where the Sixers defense didn't exist. Finally, in the second half, Philadelphia decided to play good defense and started pressuring the perimeter, making traps on the Heat backcourt and with that, they started to create some offense as well. Their problem was the 9-22 FG on the transition plays, where Miami defended really well. This morning, already in Chicago, Philadelphia had a team meeting and I expect them to have the same intensity they had in the 2nd half last night.

On the other side, Chicago is coming from a home loss against Portland, where they dominated the boards as expected, but they had a super bad defense, on a clear relax spot against a big win over Miami. The Bulls offense had their expected letdown and even though they grab a lot of offensive boards, they aren't good in taking advantage of them. This time they didn't have help from their outside game with 8-27 3pts and they eventually lose. Rose will be once again out for tonight and against a fired up Sixers perimeter defense, Chicago's backcourt will heavily struggle. The head to head is currently tied at 1-1, with both games in Philadelphia. The Sixers were competitive in both games with Rose playing in the two games and being the key in the Bulls win with 12-23 FG and 35 points. Curiously in both games, Philadelphia dominated the boards, something that it is unlikely to happen today, as they will struggle on the inside against the Bulls. However, Philadelphia will have a clear edge in the perimeter against Chicago without Rose and with both teams in bounce back mode, I expect a highly competitive game, full of defensive intensiveness from both teams. Therefore, I will be taking Philadelphia in here, as I believe they will be at least highly competitive today. Looking at the great defense I expect both teams to play today, I'll also be taking the Under in here in a Double Dime Play!
