This is a rematch from last night's game in New York between these two teams, where the Knicks completely blowout the Pacers. Yesterday, Indiana came out very sluggish and the Knicks punished them with some great defense, while forcing turnovers and scoring easy baskets in transitions. Coach Woodson used again early rotations, with his players being replaced very quickly, with switches on the defense and plenty of hedges and traps, on the team's biggest defensive effort of the season. The Knicks defense was excellent with every player showing good effort and completely stopped the post up plays of the Pacers (2-11 FG), as I predicted, as the Knicks have a good post up defense. Indiana struggled to score on the inside with 13-22 FG at the rim and 2-16 FG from 3-9 feet, all thanks to the Knicks defensive pressure!
On the other side, the Knicks offense scored via transition due to the turnovers created by their defense and with also good numbers on their ISO plays. Note that both Melo and Amare didn't have monster games, as Melo shot 4-12 FG and Amare 3-9 FG, but they are aggressive! Today in a rematch, this time in Indiana, I obviously expect the Pacers to have a bigger effort, but their problems will persist: the Knicks will defend the Pacers post up plays well once again and the way the Knicks defend with quick switches is a tough challenge for the Pacers offense and their poor ball movement. The Knicks' mindset for this game will be very good, as coach Woodson is playing with a big rotation, showing that he trusts everybody on the roster and even though this game will be more physical due to the Pacers bigger effort, I expect the Knicks to at least make this game highly competitive. Therefore, I'll take them in here once again on a Double Dime Play (75% spread + 25% moneyline). Looking at how I expect Indiana to keep struggling on offense tonight, but to play better defense today, I'll be also taking the Under on this contest.
