NBA Free Premium Play 03/17: Houston Rockets @ Los Angeles Clippers

Houston  at LA Clippers

NBA - 501 Houston Rockets @ 502 Los Angeles Clippers
Projected line: LA Clippers by 12 points

The Clippers are coming from a bad home loss against Phoenix, in a complete lack of effort from them. They had a huge lead early on and then, they relaxed and allowed the Suns to go on a 9-0 run to end the first half, who got the message very clear that the Clippers would let them hang around and so they would try to steal the win, which they eventually did at the end. The Clippers relaxed in the second half, played soft with just 12 FT attempts and 6 of them being the result of a hack a fouls strategy from the Suns. The Clippers had a offensive rebound edge as expected, but they didn't want to pound down low and instead they settled for jump shots! They shot 15-30 FG from 16-23 feet and 4-16 3pts. After the game, the Clippers coach Del Negro used words such as lack of effort, poor defense and mentioned the fact that they were outworked by their opponents, while also saying that his team didn't match the intensity of yet another opponent.

“I think it was how we lost,” Paul said. “It looked like we almost tried to lose the game. When you’re at home and where we are in the standings, you can’t lose games like that. Ain’t no way we should have lost that game. We had that game won. We let it get away.”

Today, in another home game, this time against the Rockets, the Clippers will be on a clear bounce back spot and they'll play with much more aggressiveness by crashing the boards, attack the rim and so, Houston will have problems as they aren't a good interior defensive team and they have Camby questionable for today. Lowry is out, so CP3 will have a clear edge over Dragic on the offense. Houston is now playing with Dragic, Lee, Parsons, Scola and Dalembert in their lineup. Without Lowry, the Rockets have been struggling defensively, but they have been wanting to play on a fast pace to be able to produce some good offense to compensate their lack of defensive skills. However, on this road game against the Clippers, they will be forced to play on a slow pace and in this case, I expect the team from LA to get a very clear win over Houston, on a clear bounce back spot for them. I'm taking the Clippers today.
