Soccer Euro 2012 06/15 Free Premium Play: Ukraine vs France

Euro 2012 - Group D - Ukraine vs France

Ukraine won their first game against Sweden with two headers from  Shevchenko in the second half and their style of play was incredibly open. They played with only one defensive holder midfielder (Tymoshchuk), their right back Gusev looked like more a right winger and in their build up plays, they were constantly involving 5 or 6 players on the front.

Sweden couldn’t explore the Ukrainian gaps on the back because they lack creativity on their midfield, while there is only one Zlatan Ibrahimović on the pitch. This is going change today against France because if Ukraine keeps giving so much space on their back, the French side will explore those gaps.

France is coming from a draw against an English team that decided to keep tight their defensive lines and not give any kind of space to France. England imposed a slow pace against them, they defended well behind their midfield and because of that, France couldn’t create any real chances in counter moves. However Ukraine with their offensive approach will give a lot of space to France…

Despite playing at home, I think there is a significant gap between these two teams in terms of quality and with Ukraine committed to an offensive approach, I expect France to hurt them with their great combination of explosiveness and creativity on the front. Therefore, I'll be taking France to win this match scoring at least 2 goals.
