NBA Premium Play 12/28: Washington Wizards @ Atlanta Hawks

NBA - 705 Washington Wizards @ 706 Atlanta Hawks

Projected line: 190 points

I've anticipated a walkover win for Atlanta yesterday at New Jersey. Besides the Nets having made a huge effort in the previous day at Washington, this team of Atlanta has already a developed early team chemistry, who puts them as one of the most dangerous teams in the league offensively in this early season. They won big at New Jersey, so they were able to keep the minutes of their starters at a reduced rate, while the bench had more minutes, but not even that prevented them from scoring 106 points in a half court game, in which the Hawks had a good eFG% of 51.2%! Now they return home for their home opener and they will face a team who is quite lacking organization on their defense right now. Washington is coming from a home loss against the Nets, in a ridiculous loss where they were up by more than 20 points at one point of the game. They were capable of defending the Nets well because New Jersey has no interior game: the Nets tried just 8-11 FG at the rim vs 6-24 behind the arc. So, they had no major problems in defending the Nets.

On the other side, Washington's offense was extremely unbalanced. After the game, center Andrew Blatch complained that he was getting a small number of touches on the ball down low and the truth is that WAS went 14-16 FG at the rim, so a bigger volume inside wouldn't hurt them and I expect the Wizards to feed more their inside game tonight in order to look for more easy scores. John Wall will push the pace as usual and so, I expect the Wizards to be a more dynamic offensive team tonight.

I don't believe there are major differences between these two teams from last season, so the main core of both teams continues there. The difference is that last year the four head to head games between these two teams had lines of 194.5, 196.5, 195 and 201 points, but tonight we are dealing with a 186 points line! My fair line for this contest is at 190 points and so, I'll take the over in here.
