NBA - 515 Detroit Pistons @ 516 Dallas Mavericks
Projected Line: Dallas by 4 points
Yesterday Detroit lost at Memphis, but they were more competitive than the final numbers may suggest. Both teams shot 40% FG, both scored 4 3pts shots and they had 16 vs 18 in free throws made. They also grabbed 11 offensive rebounds each, but the difference was that the Pistons committed 22 turnovers that originated 31 points to Memphis, while the Grizzlies committed 12 turnovers that originated 10 points to Detroit!
Greg Monroe and Brandon Knight had bad games yesterday, but they faced the Grizzlies' frontcourt and Mike Conley respectively. Tonight, against the Mavericks, I expect these two players to have good performances. Derek Fisher and Darren Collison aren't good defenders and Dallas' slow footed frontcourt will be a much better matchup for Monroe. We also have a potential edge for Detroit on rebounding, as Dallas is on the bottom of the league on this area. The Mavericks are also in the bottom 10 in the league in forcing turnovers and with Darren Collison lacking confidence and O.J. Mayo coming back to Earth, Dallas is clearly regressing right now.
I believe the Pistons have enough edges to make this game very competitive, so I'll be taking them in here plus the points.
