NBA Premium Play 12/03: Orlando Magic @ Golden State Warriors

NBA - 511 Orlando Magic @ 512 Golden State Warriors

Projected Line: 199 points | Golden State by 6 points

Orlando is coming from a huge win last night in LA against the Lakers, where their ball movement was the key. Thanks to that, they shot 8-16 FG from 16-23 feet and 8-23 3pts! The Magic also shot 8-10 FG on cuts mostly due to the Lakers' terrible bad help defense. They also shot 7-11 FG on transitions. Once again, the Magic with their four best players at the same time (Glen Davis, Arron Afflalo, J.J. Redick and Jameer Nelson) are indeed a quite decent team!

Even on a bad spot for them, Orlando has a good shot of making things close tonight at Golden State. Orlando's offensive game is based on cuts and pick and rolls and the Warriors are a bad defensive team in those areas, as they are #24 in defending pick and rolls and #25 in defending cuts! This is understandable, as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson aren't good defenders, while the same happens with David Lee and Carl Landry, who can't just provide good help defense to the backcourt. So, Orlando has a great matchup on offense tonight.

Golden State has been playing well and maybe there's some overlook against Orlando, a team that is supposedly tired after yesterday's game, but the truth is that their game yesterday wasn't intense at all, as it was a pure run and gun game. The Warriors' offense received a boost lately, mostly due to their improved perimeter shooting, as they are shooting 46% eFG from 16-23 feet and 58% eFG from 3pts!

I expect this contest to be a high scoring one, as both teams have weapons to score a lot of points tonight. I don't believe Orlando will be tired tonight, so I expect them to make things close on this contest, therefore I'll be taking both the Magic and the Over in here.
