Soccer Premium Card 09/13

Soccer Pick #2: Everton @ W.B.A
Rating: 3 units - Single Dime Play
Pick: Everton (-0.25) @ -106 / 1.94 on Pinnacle Sports (OR -112 / 1.89 on 5 Dimes)
Detailed Write Up:

I had a play w/ Chelsea against this Everton team and even though Everton was embarrassed at home, I didn’t think that they deserved being punished by allowing 6 goals. Their defensive lapses have been costly this season w/ late draws against Leicester City and Arsenal, but the quality is still there.  I expect them to win this contest as they face W.B.A – one of the worst teams in the league according to my rankings. I’ve faded WBA in their last game @Swansea and they got crushed by the Welsh side and today against a focused superior opponent, I don’t think that the final outcome will be different.

Soccer Pick #3: Newcastle @ Southampton
Rating: 3 units - Single Dime Play
Pick: Under 2.5 @ -120 / 1.83 on Bookmaker
Detailed Write Up:

Newcastle is in turmoil w/ their fans asking their head coach to be fired. Their recent draw against Crystal Palace 3-3 was a huge blow for them as they allowed goals early in the game, early in the second half and in the last minute of the game. For today, they have several key players injured especially w/ playmaker Jong and youngster Arrons on the front. I expect Newcastle to have a conservative approach like they had @ Aston Villa. On the other end, the Saints are showing once again a good defensive consistency like they had last season. Their offense is still a work in progress project looking to get some chemistry back.

Soccer Pick #4: Leicester City @ Stoke City
Rating: 3 units - Single Dime Play
Pick: Over 2.25 @ +114 / 2.14 on Pinnacle Sports (OR +110 / 2.10 on 5 Dimes)
Detailed Write Up:

Leicester City has been probably the biggest surprise of this season (alongside w/ Swansea but unlike Swansea, Leicester’s schedule was brutal in the first 3 games). Even though they were playing against top clubs, their mindset was pro-active: they pressured high on the pitch, they use their wings and they have a quality striker on the front in Leonardo Ulloa. If they had this pro-active approach against top teams, I really don’t think that they will change such approach against a team like Stoke City! This can be good news for the home side because they tend to struggle against packed defenses on the back as they don’t have the proper offensive skill and creativity to dismantle deep defensive lines. W/ Leicester City pushing forward, this game will be relatively fun to watch and therefore, I think that we should be dealing w/ a classic 2.5 goals line!
