Projected line: New York by 4 points
The Mystics aren’t a particular good team and right now they are in the middle of a huge road losing streak but since their head coach made some tweaks on the starting lineup (especially on the frontcourt) the Mystics have been more competitive. The trio of Langhorne, Snow and Currie are working “well” and the Mystics were relatively competitive against San Antonio and Connecticut twice lately which was an improvement.
They have some problems in handling the ball but they are one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the league and today they will face the worst defensive rebounding team in the league who are depleted on the frontcourt: the New York Liberty!
New York is playing without one of their best forwards in Plenette Pierson while Kia Vaughn and DeMya Walker are banged up and questionable for today. The Liberty is playing small ball due to circumstances and I expect Washington to pound them inside today. Obviously New York has a substantial edge on the backcourt with a red hot Pondexter leading the way but the Mystics will respond by dominating the glass and down low turning this contest into a competitive battle.
