Even though Hanson had some problems in their last two starts against the Yankees and Arizona, he faced power hitting teams who took advantage of Hanson's flyball style and crushed him on long balls. He allowed 4 homeruns from the Yankees in a game with a lot of wind and he also allowed a 3-run homerun from Arizona. On the other hand, the Cubs have a below average HR/FB with 10.3% and they are also a bad team against Hanson's best pitch, his slider! Therefore, Hanson has a good chance to do a good job today.
Considering the fact that Samardzija is coming from a bad outing against the Mets and that he has some decent advanced numbers, but not good enough to counter the good hitters from the Braves, I expect Atlanta to have an easy win today and so, I'll take them on the runline today.
