NBA Premium Play: Memphis @ Oklahoma City - Game 7

NBA - 753 Memphis Grizzlies @ 754 Oklahoma City Thunder

***SINGLE DIME PLAY***

Projected line: 197 points | Oklahoma City by 10 points

In the final game of this series I think that the Oklahoma City will beat the Grizzlies and advance to the Western Conference Finals. I also think that the game will fly over the total posted as my projected line is 196/198 points.

In the last 2 games we watched both the Grizzlies (in G5) and the Thunder (in G6) ran out of gas while their offense(s) sucked hard especially on the second halves of those games. Nevertheless, the pace of those games was about the same, as it has been during the series so the “issue” about the outcome of those games was all about the efficiency of the offenses.

In the last game, the Grizzlies inserted OJ Mayo as their starting shooting guard in order to give Zach Randolph more space to operate down low. With him on the court, the Thunder couldn’t let Mayo alone on the perimeter because he is way more dangerous than Sam Young and actually Mayo enjoyed a nice game with 16 points while shooting 6-12 FG, 2-4 3pts & 2-2 FT. Randolph was superb but truth must be told, he exploded only in the second half!

However… despite all the “Z-Bo domination”, the Grizzlies as a team shot only 14-26 FG (54%) at the rim vs. 19-29 FG at the rim from the Thunder (66%)! When the Thunder was aggressive on the court, they completed dominated the game in the first half!

The problem was that for some reason Oklahoma City suddenly stopped attacking, and settled for ill-advised three-point attempts – it was clear for me that it was a question plain and simple of effort! The Thunder shot 4 of 25 from behind the arc and Kevin Durant was the perfect example of a tired player because he didn’t want or tried to work near the basket, instead 9 of his 14 shots were treys and the team combined to shot 0-12 3pts in the second half!

For today, I’m pretty sure that Durant will be re-energized like his teammates, not only because they are playing at home but because this is the pivotal game.

Finally, once again it was proved that the Thunder has the better bench in the last game. While Lionel Hollins was forced to play 4 of their starters for about 40 minutes (the only exception was Tony Allen), the Thunder could give more time to their subs and certainly they did not hurt them because 3 of them ended the game with positive team points.

I expect a good effort from both teams and that’s I’m taking the Over today as neither team will give up of the game. However, the Thunder in my opinion have the home court advantage and as long they will stay aggressive, they will beat the Grizzlies today.
