Philadelphia had a super long road trip with eight straight games away from Philadelphia. They simply had no legs in their last games because of that. Their offense is based a lot on their jump shots and with them having no legs, they struggled in scoring. Over their last six games, they shot just 36-114 (31.5%) 3pts! Their lack of aggressiveness was also quite evident on their lack of free throws, as they had just 20, 8, 12, 20 and 11 free throws on their last five games. For today, they had two days to rest and they are coming back home with fresher legs and with a more aggressive mindset, so this is a good offensive spot for them. They will face a Brooklyn team that even with their new coach keeps struggling on their transition defense, as they have allowed 19, 11, 15, 15, 15 and 10 fast break points over their last six games! Therefore, Philadelphia should be able to have a good edge by being aggressive.
Since Avery Johnson left the team, Brooklyn's offense has been excellent. They had a stinker against San Antonio with 5 points scored in the third quarter, but besides that, they have been excellent on offense! Brook Lopez is playing very well, with Joe Johnson and Deron Williams also playing better than in the early season. I expect Brook Lopez to explore Philadelphia's poor post up defense, while the Sixers should also have a good offensive game, as they have a nice spot and the Nets are quite poor on 16-23 feet defense. Therefore, I believe this game will be a high scoring one and so, I'll be taking the Over in here.
