NBA - 505 Atlanta Hawks @ 506 Minnesota Timberwolves
Projected Line: Atlanta by 3 points
Atlanta had a team meeting after losing at home against Boston. They have lost their last two games, so I expect them to have a bounce back mindset for tonight. The Hawks have conditions to make a good job tonight. It will be normal that the Wolves have an edge on rebounding (even though they are a bit weaker without Kevin Love), however Atlanta protects very well the paint by being #10 in the league with 40.0 ppg and #5 on rim defense with just 61.9% FG allowed. The Hawks's defensive problem lately has been on defending the perimeter, as since Louis Williams joined the starting lineup, they are allowing 40% 3pts over the last 10 games! The good news for them is that Minnesota's perimeter shooting is terrible and they are #30 on 3pts shooting with just 29.5% and they were even worse over their last 10 games!
The Hawks's offense will have an edge on the perimeter, just like Portland had on Minnesota's last game. The fact that Al Horford plays far from the basket creates a poor matchup for Nikola Pekovic, who likes to be close to the basket and that will also make Atlanta's job in being effective on their cuts plays easier. I expect a good bounce back from the Hawks tonight and so, I'll be taking them in here.
