NBA - 513 Memphis Grizzlies @ 514 Dallas Mavericks
Projected Line: 191 points | Dallas by 3 points
This is a clear trap spot for Memphis, as they will play their fifth game in seven games. They had three straight road games, they came back home to face San Antonio last night and they will now play at Dallas, after beating the Spurs yesterday on overtime. I watched their games at Golden State and against San Antonio and it was evident that Memphis made a huge effort in both contests. Yesterday against the Spurs, Zach Randolph played 43 minutes, Rudy Gay 43 minutes and Mike Conley 41 minutes, while Marc Gasol played 37 minutes and Tony Allen 39 minutes!
On the other hand, Dallas has been playing better with Dirk Nowitzki in the starting lineup, but unlike it was expected, they are actually losing a lot of close games. They lost on overtime at Miami, then they lost on overtime against New Orleans, they were also quite competitive at Utah and they were also leading the Clippers at LA at the end of the third quarter! Finally, and on a tough spot for them, Dallas managed to have a comeback win at Sacramento against the Kings. I believe the Mavericks will take advantage of the Grizzlies's tired legs to push up the pace, as they have a good team in scoring fast break points and they have also a decent outside shooting game with Dirk Nowitzki back, as his presence opens up a lot of space to the team's shooters.
Memphis defeated Dallas at home by 92-82, in a game where Dallas was on a back to back spot against a rested Grizzlies team. Dallas was being forced to give heavy minutes to players like Dominique Jones and Dahntay Jones, something that isn't happening anymore, so I don't believe they will commit 24 turnovers like they did in that game! Dallas will take advantage of Memphis's flat spot tonight and get a very good win against the Grizzlies. Considering the fact that Dallas will try to run as much as possible tonight, on a similar way that Houston was able to crush Memphis last month, I expect this game to be a fast paced game, where the Grizzlies should also have some edge down low over a soft Dallas's frontcourt. Therefore, I'll be taking the Over in here as well.
