MLB - 909 Los Angeles Dodgers @ 910 Pittsburgh Pirates
(Starting Pitchers: C. Kershaw vs W. Rodriguez)
The Dodgers have won the first two games of the series and they will try to win their third in a row tonight with Kershaw on the mount. He is once again at an incredible level, as shown last Friday when he retired 14 straight against Miami, where he struck out seven and allowed just three hits. He has stroke out more seven or more batters in 10 of his last 12 starts and he is looking really good right (3-0 1.21 ERA L3). Pittsburgh's roster is just hitting .217 BA against Kershaw and if they struggled against Harang and Billingsley, it won't get any easier for them to hit against Kershaw tonight.
On the other hand, Pittsburgh will start Rodriguez tonight and he is yet to win a decision with a Pirates uniform, even though he had three tough games against his former team Houston (who knows him very well), a road game in Cincinnati and a home game against the Diamondbacks, who are lethal against LH pitchers. Even though Rodriguez hasn't been terrible, his FIP numbers were kinda poor on his last three starts and he would need a massive game to keep his team in the game considering Kershaw is once again pitching at the level he shown last year when he won the Cy Young award. The Dodgers know Rodriguez very well and in 156 AB, the Dodgers' roster is hitting .276 BA and .752 OPS against him and so, with Kershaw also on the mount tonight, I believe the Dodgers will get an easy win in here. I'm taking the Dodgers tonight to get a third consecutive win over Pittsburgh in here.
