MLB Premium Play 08/17: Los Angeles Dodgers @ Atlanta Braves

MLB - 905 Los Angeles Dodgers @ 906 Atlanta Braves

(Starting Pitchers: C. Capuano vs T. Hanson)

This should be a great series between two teams in very good form right now. The Dodgers have been hitting extremely well, especially since Ramirez and Victorino joined the team, while Atlanta has won 15 of their last 20 games. The LA team will start Capuano tonight and after going 9-3 in the first three months of the season, he had a terrible July by going 1-4 and posting a 5.14 ERA. He bounced back on his two starts already in August by going 1-1 but posting a 1.20 ERA, while only allowing his opponent to post a batting average of .216. In fact, he looked great in Miami last Sunday by allowing just two hits in 8IP, while striking out 10 opponents. However, there is a major difference between these two starts and tonight's game, as while he had 5 days to rest before his last two starts, he will come to this game with just 4 days off. And while he has a .202 BA, .520 OPS, 5.14 K/BB and 1.40 ERA on games with 5 days rest, he is terrible with just 4 days rest with .291 BA, .838 OPS, 2.24 K/BB and 5.14 ERA! With him facing a confident Braves lineup, I believe Capuano will clearly struggle tonight.

On the other side, Atlanta will start Hanson tonight and after being impressive in June by going 4-0 and posting a 3.13 ERA, he struggled with his command in July. His last start was on the last day of July and then, he was on the 15-day DL with a back strain. He had a good rehab and threw five scoreless innings on his start Sunday for Triple-A Gwinnett, so he will be starting today. Hanson is a flyball pitcher and on his last four games, he had a xFIP of 5.07, 6.27, 5.44 and 4.57. With Hanson coming back from injury and with the Dodgers hitting so well the ball right now, I can only expect Hanson to have a tough comeback today against an on-fire Dodgers lineup.

With Capuano being prone to struggle tonight due to lack of rest and Hanson coming from injury tonight against a very good Dodgers' lineup, I can only expect this game to have a high number of runs scored by two offenses who are clearly in good form right now. Therefore, I'll be taking the Over in here.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 905/906 Over 7.5 (w/ C. Capuano & T. Hanson) @ -110 / 1.91 on Bookmaker
