MLB - 909 Philadelphia Phillies @ 910 Milwaukee Brewers
(Starting Pitchers: V. Worley vs Y. Gallardo)
This is the second game of this series and after losing the first game, Philadelphia will start Worley tonight, who clearly struggled on his last outing against Milwaukee, where he allowed three runs on ten hits in just 5.1IP. He also allowed four runs against St Louis on his last start last Sunday. He will have a surgery this offseason to remove bone chips on his right elbow and the truth is that he has been struggling lately with a 5.73 ERA since the start of July. In fact, his FIP numbers on his last four starts (2.72, 4.46, 3.95, 4.41) show that clearly Worley isn't at his best right now and with him facing Milwaukee on the road, I can only expect the Brewers to put him in a lot of trouble tonight.
Gallardo will start for Milwaukee and he had his third win in a row after striking out eight batters in 7.2IP performance against Houston on Sunday. However, two of those three starts were against the lowly Astros, so we can't take a lot of impressions from those games, while on his game against Cincinnati, he was a bit lucky as even though he had a 1.29 ERA, his FIP was 5.10! Gallardo struggles a bit against LH batters and after having two homeruns yesterday, Howard should be able to put Gallardo in some trouble tonight.
With Worley struggling tonight and with Gallardo also not being able to have a clean performance tonight against the Phillies lineup that has some LH batters to trouble him, I expect this game to be a high scoring game and make this game go Over the total posted. Therefore, I'll take the Over in here.
