MLB - 919 Baltimore Orioles @ 920 Detroit Tigers
(Starting Pitchers: T. Hunter vs J. Verlander)

After a very interesting series against the Red Sox, Baltimore is now traveling to Detroit to start a three-games series tonight. Looking at the fact they'll start Hunter tonight and they'll have to face Verlander, I expect a very tough night for the Orioles. Hunter is coming from three losing decisions in a row and on his last outing against Kansas City, he allowed three runs on eight hits in a non-decision. His FIP on his last four games was 6.10, 7.16, 7.60 and 5.91 and looking at the fact he faced Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Oakland and Cleveland, this isn't a good sign at all for him. He also keeps being torched by homeruns and he has allowed 27 of them in just 112 innings! With Detroit coming from day and having such a powerful lineup, I believe Hunter will once again have a very tough night, especially in terms of homeruns.
On the other hand, Verlander is coming from an outing where he dominated the Rangers, where he just allowed one run and seven hits, while walking none and striking out eight. He has been amazing the whole season and looking at the fact the Orioles are on a tough spot tonight after a grueling series against Boston and that their roster is only hitting .210 BA against Verlander, I believe Detroit will dominate Baltimore today by pounding Hunter while Verlander dominates the Orioles' hitters. I'm taking Detroit in the runline tonight. Triple Dime Play!
