WNBA - 651 Connecticut Sun @ 652 New York Liberty

This is a great spot for the Liberty to get revenge over the three losses they have already suffered this season at the hands of Connecticut. The Sun saw their two best players Jones and Charles going to the Olympic Games and so, their entire starting backcourt was far away from Connecticut until the start of this week. But if that wasn't enough, Jones has a Achilles injury and she is questionable for tonight. With Connecticut's two best players being on a flat spot for tonight, I believe it is likely that the Sun's offense will struggle big time tonight. They depend a lot from their frontcourt (#4 in the points in the paint with 34.11 ppg + only 17.3% of their points comes from 3pts shooting) and with both Charles and Jones coming from the Olympics, I believe Connecticut will heavily struggle tonight.
On the other hand, the Liberty retained their whole roster during the Olympic break and they have also their starting PF Pierson back from injury and that's awesome news for the team from NY, who was playing undersized due to Pierson's absence. The Liberty have already lost three times against Connecticut this season and their last two defeats were very heavy, as they lost by 77-92 and... 55-97!!! Therefore, New York will have revenge on their mind today and looking at the fact they have a much better spot than the Sun for tonight and also that they have Pierson back, I believe the Liberty have a great shot of even winning this game outright, the first game of a home-home series, as they will travel to Connecticut to face the Sun again next Saturday. I'll be taking New York tonight.
