(Starting Pitchers: G. Floyd vs R. Romero)
This is an interesting game, as neither pitcher has been in great form lately. Floyd is coming from two no-decisions against Oakland and the Angels where he allowed eight runs in 12.1 IP. He has also shown poor command lately by walking 24 batters over his last six outings. With his command issues and with his poor outings lately (5.60, 5.62, 5.50, 5.76, 3.10 and 9.66 FIP L6), even a banged up Toronto lineup should be able to put him in some trouble tonight.
On the other side, Toronto will start Romero tonight who after a terrible slump has somewhat regained some of his form on his last three outings by posting a FIP of 1.76, 3.38 and 3.81 in those games. He was able to pitch well against the Yankees on the road and that surely gave him some of his confidence back and therefore, I expect him to perform better than his opposing SP Floyd tonight.
With both offenses not looking impressive right now, a SP edge in here may be essential for one of these teams to get the win tonight. As I believe Romero will have a better outing tonight than the struggling Floyd, I'll be taking the Blue Jays to win in here.
