Oakland will start the rookie Parker, who is coming from three consecutive struggling outings, where he allowed 4, 3 and 6 runs. He was enjoying a successful rookie campaign, but he is now struggling after the All-star break, as he has posted a 5.12 ERA over five starts since the break. On the other hand, Guthrie is coming from two great starts in a row, as after completely struggling against any opponent, he posted two great performances with 2.76 and 1.60 FIP against Texas and in Chicago against the White Sox!
It seems clear to me that Guthrie is currently in better form than Parker and besides that, the Royals have certainly a much more effective offense than the Athletics. Besides that, there was a clear line movement towards Kansas City and it isn't certainly the Joe bettors that are betting on Kansas City, the worst home team in the league, who are starting a SP with a +6.00 ERA. Therefore, we have the necessary conditions to take the Royals tonight and that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm taking Kansas City in here.
