MLB Premium Play 08/14: Milwaukee Brewers @ Colorado Rockies

MLB - 963 Milwaukee Brewers @ 964 Colorado Rockies

(Starting Pitchers: R. Wolf vs T. Chatwood)

Colorado showed yesterday why they lead the league with 5.8 runs per game at home by completely dismantling rookie SP Mike Fiers who was having a great number of high quality outings lately. He entered that game with a 1.80 ERA and he hadn't allowed more than two rounds in nine straight starts, but he finished that game with eight runs and nine hits allowed in just two innings.

Milwaukee will start Wolf tonight who is coming from a good outing against Cincinnati (2 runs and 6 hits allowed) on his third quality start in his last five games. He has a good history against the Rockies (7-3 with a 3.73 ERA in 16 starts), so don't be surprised if he is able to handle the Rockies' hitting tonight, especially when he is coming from two good outings in a row (he had a 2.91 FIP on a game at St Louis on his start before facing the Reds last Wednesday).

On the other hand, the Rockies will start Chatwood tonight, who will only make his third start in the Rockies rotation tonight. He is coming from a good outing on a 3-0 win over the Giants, but on his previous start, he had allowed three runs, two hits, four walks and just one strike out in 3.1 IP also against San Francisco. I believe the Giants relaxed on his rematch against Chatwood, as Posey didn't play and they were coming home after a long road trip, while being on a @STL -> SF back to back spot. With them facing a SP that they had dominated in the previous week, they underestimated him and struggled. That won't happen with Milwaukee for sure and therefore, I believe Chatwood will struggle tonight against the Brewers on a bounce back spot, after yesterday's clear loss with Fiers on the mount.

With Chatwood having just 3 days rest for this contest and with him just making his third start this season, I believe the Brewers have a good chance of hitting well tonight. If we add to that the fact that Wolf has a good history against the Rockies and he is coming from two consecutive quality outings, I believe we have the necessary conditions to take Milwaukee tonight and so, I'll take them in here.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 963 Milwaukee Brewers ML (w/ R. Wolf) @ -114 / 1.88 on Betonline
