Arizona will surely expect that Kennedy performs better tonight than he did on his last outing against Pittsburgh, where he allowed six runs in just four innings, his shortest outing of the season. Kennedy is 1-2 with a 10.13 ERA in three starts against the Cardinals, so this is likely to be a tough night for him once again, especially as he seems to be struggling, as he had 6.89 and 6.43 FIP on his last two starts prior to that game.
The Cards will start Kelly, who has lost five of his last six decisions. The rookie is coming from his worst outing of the season, where he allowed seven runs in a 15-0 loss against San Francisco. He seems to be struggling now (kinda normal for a rookie), however his FIP numbers aren't that bad. Still I believe he will be lacking some confidence tonight after such a poor outing against the Giants and the Dbacks have good batters to take advantage from that.
I believe the Cards will once again put the struggling Kennedy in a lot of trouble, while Arizona should also be the rookie Kelly in some tough situations tonight. Therefore, I believe in a game with a considerable high number of runs scored tonight and so, I'll take the Over in here.
