Denver is one of those teams who can easily take advantage of the fact that the Lakers are a poor built team, with no foot speed, old but a team that wants to play uptempo at the same time. The Lakers have been heavily struggling in stopping the dribble penetrations from the opposing guards and also transition plays from their opponents. Their guards are slow and even Dwight Hoard seems to have lost half a step this season. Besides that, Howard is questionable for today with a shoulder injury. Besides that, Jordan Hill is also banged up and Metta World Peace didn't practice yesterday as well.
The Nuggets are on a poor spot because they will play their third game in four nights, however they had a blowout win last night against Utah, where nobody played more than 32 minutes! Besides the fact that Ty Laeson will have a considerable edge over the Lakers backcourt, Pau Gasol is physically and mentally burn out and he will have a tough matchup against Kenneth Faried. Kobe Bryant has been on fire lately, but Andre Iguodala is a great defender. Denver is also #4 on pick and roll ball handler defense and so, they should be able to limit the Lakers offense tonight, while they should have no problems in taking advantage of the slow footed Lakers defense. I expect a super competitive game tonight and so, I'll be taking the Nuggets plus the points in here.
