NBA - 507 Charlotte Bobcats @ 508 Houston Rockets
Projected Line: Houston by 15 points
Houston is coming from another loss against Denver, where they were very competitive, just to allow a 19-1 Nuggets run in the second half that ended the game. James Harden had an off game, but he had a tough matchup against a terrific defender like Andre Iguodala. Jeremy Lin took advantage of the whole attention Harden got to have a good game, but at the end it wasn't enough for the Rockets to avoid another loss against the Nuggets. These two teams faced each other in Charlotte in an early MLK Day Game, where the Bobcats were leading by 81-74 at the end of the third quarter, but then the Rockets won the game by outscoring the Bobcats by 26-13 in the fourth quarter. Note that this game was played on a span where the Rockets had no legs, as they were playing their 9th game in just 14 days with 7 of those games being on the road!
Nowadays, Houston's offense is back on track and they are coming from a good sequence of nice offensive games. The Rockets's pick and rolls, spot ups and transitions are back into a good level and they will pound the Bobcats tonight. Charlotte's defense will have no chance of stopping Houston's offense. Gerald Henderson has no defensive skills to stop James Harden, while the Bobcats's frontcourt aren't skilled enough for this kind of offensive game. Charlotte is last in the league in 3pts defense with 39.3% 3pts allowed and they will be facing tonight the second team in the league with more 3pts attempts per game! Since they lost at home against Denver, in a game that forced them into make some offensive adjustments, the Rockets are shooting 47-110 (43%) 3pts!
Charlotte was being an elite a pick and roll ball handler defense, but they aren't defending well anymore. They are allowing 0.80 PPP for the season, but 0.96 PPP on their last 10 games! On the other side, Charlotte's offense is very predictable. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has hit the rookie wall, Charlotte's frontcourt is useless, while Kemba Walker and Ramon Sessions can't do everything on their own and they are very turnover prone, when they get pressured. Therefore, I expect a very easy win for Houston tonight and so, I'll be taking them in here.
