NBA - 815 Golden State Warriors @ 816 Memphis Grizzlies
Projected Line: 184 points
We have two teams in here with a super bad mood right now. Both teams will be playing their third game in four nights, having lost the first two games of this span on an ugly way. Golden State got crushed at Houston by allowing 140 points. They decided to follow Houston's run and gun game and I don't blame them, as they were red hot and on a good streak, so with them having one of the best offenses in the league, why not try to outscore the Rockets on their own game? That seemed logical, but the result wasn't at all. After that, Golden State had problems with the plane that had to go to Tulsa, so they had to travel to Oklahoma City by bus, where they only arrived at 4AM. Oklahoma City remembered well their loss at Golden State earlier on the season and with the Warriors having no legs on a poor spot, they got crushed again. After allowing 21 fast break points to Houston, Golden State allowed also 20 fast break points to Oklahoma City.
Today things should be different. They had 1 day off and I clearly expect Golden State to show a bigger defensive mindset this time against Memphis. Also the fact that Houston and Oklahoma City are #6 and #1 on offensive ratings in the league, while Memphis is #23 also helps the Warriors in performing a defensive bounce back tonight. Memphis's offense hasn't improved with Rudy Gay leaving and Tayshaun Prince replacing him, as the team keeps struggling on offense, especially down the stretch. On the first three games with Prince on the team, Memphis had 95.74, 101.37 and 106.43 offensive ratings on these games. The biggest proof of the Grizzlies's offensive struggles is the fact that they scored just 90 points against Phoenix's poor defense, while having an offensive rating of just 101.4! For tonight's game, Andrew Bogut will play, so Golden State will have an important piece to battle against Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol down low.
On the other side, Jarrett Jack is out for tonight's game and he is the key factor for Golden State's second unit, especially against a Memphis team that has no depth on their backcourt. This will force Stephen Curry to play heavy minutes today. The good news for Memphis is that they've never stopped in being a good defensive team, even though they got surprised by Atlanta's great transition game on their last game.
"We can't take a step back and dumb down the defense that most of us are accustomed to playing," veteran starting point guard Mike Conley said. "We've got to hope the new guys pick it up quickly so we can run our style of defense for 48 minutes."
This is a very important game for both teams, as they will be trying to bounce back from two poor losses on their last two games. I expect this game to have a playoff atmosphere, while both teams will play better defense than offense, so I'll be taking the Under in here on a Double Dime Play!
Pick: 4 units (Double Dime Play) on 815/816 Under 191 @ -110 / 1.91 on Bookmaker
