NBA Premium Play 02/02: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Cleveland Cavaliers

NBA - 505 Oklahoma City Thunder @ 506 Cleveland Cavaliers

Projected Line: 209 points

***DOUBLE DIME PLAY***

Cleveland is coming from a road loss in Detroit last night, where they showed no effort on defense. It's just to easy to score in transition against them, as Detroit scored 22 fast break points with 8-17 FG on transitions. Detroit had 25% volume on transition plays, a sign that Cleveland really doesn't defend! Detroit not only scored easy on transitions, as they also scored 62 points at the paint! Cleveland "only" allowed 117 points to Detroit because the Pistons shot just 23-43 FT! The only positive aspect of the Cavaliers yesterday was their bench play, who played with good offensive cohesion led by Shaun Livingston, C.J. Miles, Wayne Ellington and Marreese Speights.

I just don't see Cleveland's defense suddenly improve for today. They are playing on a faster pace than usual, as their season average pace is 91.23, while they average a pace factor of 92.92 on their last 10 games and 93.90 on their last 5 games! This resulted in much worse defense from them, as they are already #25 in the league in transition defense with 1.19 PPP allowed and 1.23 PPP on their last 10 games! They keep struggling in pick and roll ball handler defense, where Kyrie Irving has been terrible, while their spot up defense has been terrible as well. They will now face Oklahoma City with 1 day off prior to this game. Not only Russell Westbrook will have a super edge over Kyrie Irving's defense, as the Thunder's frontcourt will have a big edge over Cleveland's terrible interior defense. On this fast paced style of the Cavaliers, Oklahoma City's offense will just keep pounding them time and time again.

So, the question in here is to know what the Cavaliers's offense will do against the Thunder's defense. First of all, Cleveland's bench is playing much better, as they are full of players with good offensive skills, even though they don't play defense at all. Kyrie Irving will face Russell Westbrook, who gambles too much on defense. Oklahoma City made a good defensive effort on a National TV game against Memphis and they were coming from another National TV loss at LA against the Lakers. But tonight at Cleveland, they won't put a lot of effort on defense, considering the easy task they will have on offense today. Oklahoma City has allowed 26, 15, 15 and 14 fast break points on their last 4 games and Cleveland will also take advantage of that. I see this game being a very high scoring game, so I'll be taking the Over in here on a Double Dime Play!
