NBA Premium Play 02/01: Washington Wizards @ Memphis Grizzlies

NBA - 815 Washington Wizards @ 816 Memphis Grizzlies

Projected Line: Memphis by 3 points

This is a back to back game for Memphis and they are super shorthanded right now. They played against Oklahoma City yesterday and the Grizzlies used their starters in heavy minutes: Zach Randolph played 37 minutes, Marc Gasol 37 minutes, Mike Conley 38 minutes, Jerry Bayless 40 minutes and Tony Allen 30 minutes. Currently on their bench, only Darrell Arthur is a legit NBA player. So, with them being on a tough spot and while being so shorthanded, this will be a tough game for the Grizzlies!

Washington's defense has been decent at protecting the basket, as they are #4 on post up defense by allowing 0.76 PPP and with Emeka Okafor and Nene Hilario playing well, it won't be easy for Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol to have big games tonight. Washington's rim defense has been improving lately and while they are allowing 66% FG at the rim for the season, they have just allowed 63% FG over their last 10 games. With the Grizzlies frontcourt being well defended, Memphis will be a tough position, as their backcourt with Mike Conley, Jerry Bayless and Tony Allen isn't convincing me one bit.

The Wizards played good defense on their last game at Philadelphia by allowing them to shoot just 42% FG, but Jrue Holiday completely outplayed John Wall, who shot 3-12 FG and had 5 turnovers. Mike Conley and Jerry Bayless have nowhere near the same skill of Holiday and so, I expect Washington to make this game a very competitive one. I'm taking the Wizards tonight.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 815 Washington Wizards (+6,5) @ -110 / 1.91 on Bookmaker
