MLB - 923 Seattle Mariners @ 924 Texas Rangers
(Starting Pitchers: H. Iwakuma vs M. Perez)
It seems that Hisashi Iwakuma is now hitting a wall. After an amazing run of two and a half months, Iwakuma has now allowed four runs in each of his last three starts. It's especially remarkable that he allowed five homeruns on his last two games, even though he was playing at home in a pitcher-friendly park! Iwakuma didn't face a single good offense on his last six outings, but the truth is that Texas isn't also hitting very well right now. But still, I expect the Rangers to be able to take advantage of Iwakuma's poor current form.
Texas will have Martin Perez as their pitcher tonight. He is coming from 6.2 shutout innings against the Reds and he has now a 2-1 record and a great 2.37 ERA in three starts this season. He won at St Louis as a big underdog and then dominated an elite team versus LH pitchers (Cincinnati), so no doubt that he is in good form right now. Seattle is a subpar team versus LH pitchers with just .236 BA versus LH pitchers on their last 10 games. They struggled against Derek Holland yesterday and they only scored two runs against Travis Wood on their series against the Cubs, while they were dominated by Jeff Locke when they faced the Pirates. Therefore, I expect Perez to have another good outing today, leading his team to a comfortable win tonight.
Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 924 Texas Rangers ML (w/ M. Perez) @ -127 / 1.79 on 5Dimes
