Washington lost at Minnesota, on a game that went in the way I predicted it. Minnesota is playing with an undersized lineup, but they are very good in pressuring the ball handler led by Ricky Rubio, while Washington is very prone to commit turnovers, as John Wall can quickly get out of control. Well, the Wizards committed a season high of 24 turnovers that led to 30 points scored by the Wolves. With these problems, Washington completely lost their offensive flow. This is why they couldn't take advantage of the depleted Wolves's frontcourt and shot just 7-10 FG at the rim, while they shot 11-21 FG from 16-23 feet and 6-19 treys!
The Wizards will now play at Brooklyn, on a game involving two teams that have been committing a lot of turnovers lately. The matchup between Deron Williams and John Wall will be interesting, as Wall's speed will be a problem for Deron. Then, Martell Webster and Trevor Ariza will defend Joe Johnson, who isn't at 100% right now. Emeka Okafor and Brook Lopez will also go head to head, so it's clear why the Wizards were able to cause so many problems to the Nets on the first two games played between these two teams this season, as they matchup well defensively against the Nets.
However, we still have a good value on the Over tonight. The first two contests had a game pace of 90, a relatively fast pace for games involving Brooklyn. With a similar pace tonight, we immediately have value on the Over, as these two teams have been shooting very well over their last 10 games from the 3pts line, while Brooklyn being #1 in the league with 43.2% 3pts and Washington #3 in the league with 40.9% 3pts! Therefore, I'll be taking the Over in here. As Washington is indeed a terrible matchup for the Nets, I'll be taking the Wizards in here as well.
