Game Recap 03/12: Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat

Coach Larry Drew has no problems in changing the starting lineup in order to try to find the best matchups, but he is taking that too far in my opinion. Yesterday was the fifth game in a row that the Hawks made changes in the starting lineup and having no stability on the rotations, it's hard to establish a proper chemistry on the team, especially with just 20 games to go on the regular season. This time, Coach Drew started Deshawn Stevenson and Anthony Tolliver, while leaving Devin Harris and Kyle Korver on the bench. If the option of leaving Harris on the bench and starting Stevenson is questionable, as Stevenson isn't able to defend anybody anymore let alone Dwayne Wade, the decision of leaving Kyle Korver on the bench doesn't make sense at all, as Miami plays small ball like the Hawks as well!

The Hawks were still able to score 28 fast break points tonight and that's more than any other team has scored against Miami this season. However, Atlanta shot 5-22 3pts and committed 24 turnovers, so they had no chances. With our play in Atlanta on the trash, we would still have a shot of winning the Over, but Larry Drew simply gave up on the game way too early, as he inserted a lineup of Ivan Johnson, Anthony Tolliver, Kyle Korver, John Jenkins and Devin Harris while being down by 14 points at the end of the third quarter. So, no wonder that Atlanta scored just 16 points in the final quarter. It definitely seemed that Larry Drew was more concerned with tonight's game against the Lakers than in trying to fight back against Miami in the second half yesterday.
